Our main goal is to create climbs that are fun, safe, and challenging for everyone. We believe good routes and boulders should focus on skill and technique rather than just strength, allowing climbers to learn, improve, and enjoy the process. By emphasizing creativity and problem-solving, we help climbers develop a better sense of movement and a strong connection with the sport and the community.
We also believe that route setters need to enjoy their work to create inspiring climbs. If we’re not having fun while setting, climbers won’t have fun either. That’s why we focus on maintaining a positive and engaging work environment where passion and creativity drive everything we do.
We’re always looking to improve, try new ideas, and push our creativity further. For us, setting isn’t just a job—it’s about making climbing fun, creating memorable climbs, and bringing energy to every spot we work on.

YOUTH LEAD 1
Big competition last weekend, hosted by Mountain Network Arnhem. Under guidance of our chief in-training Iris Haubrich and the team kicked off the first national youth comp of the year. Always amazing to witness the joy and creativity of these youth atlethes, finding solutions and climbing strong.

LEAD SEASON 2025 IN FULL SWING
We opened the lead season with a swing at Mountain Network Amsterdam last weekend, where the first national lead competition of the year took place (lead 1).
Under the lead of chief Sam van de Vorstenbosch, Arlen Strengers, Victor Meulendijks, Wouter Hiemstra, Nikki van Bergen en Cyrille Jones did the hard work, setting the comp routes from the rope.
A great day, showy routes and a nice competition result. We are happy! Onto the next lead comp!

BELGIUM LEAD NATIONALS
We were invited to set at the Belgium Lead Nationals 2025. A big honor as you can imagine, we’re proud on this one. Check the aftermovie below!

DUTCH YOUTH BOULDER 2
The first comp from 2025 is a fact. On sunday the 2nd of february RijnBoulder (Arnhem) hosted the 2nd youth boulder comp (under 17 / under 19) from this season.
Victor Meulendijks was the big chief for this comp, creating a set of boulders in various styles, alongside with Sam van de Vorstenbosch, Luuk Jans, Max Deelen, Jesse Pauw and Joni Kerkhof.

NCCN DESIGN
Big news for the Dutch climbing community. One of our main partners, Mountain Network, announced the coming of a mega gym called NCCN (national climbing centre Nieuwegein). The gym is coming early 2025, as you can imagine we are very excited!
SET was and is involved in the design of the climbing walls, hold selection and of course all setting activities in the near future. Check the link below for a video walkthrough of the gym. Wow.

Proud to announce that our national team setters Iris Haubrich and Titus Frehe passed their test to become a national competition setter (NKBV WRB-3). After following a course and finishing their internship during the lead comp season, they had one final exam during a national comp.
Congrats Iris and Titus. On to many more routes and great comps!
